CSI and its members have been actively involved in developing standards and guidelines for graphic documentation for many years. At first CSI focused on establishing guidelines and principles for preparing all types of drawings- CAD and manual graphical information. The results of these efforts have culminated in CSI’s Uniform Drawing System (UDS), which is a major portion of the U.S. National CAD Standard (NCS). Learn more about the products and services available to you on this important subject through the various links below.
The Standard includes the NIBS' Report of the NCS Project Committee, Introduction and Appendices, and the following constituent documents:
-
CAD Layer Guidelines, published by the American Institute of Architects
-
Uniform Drawing System, Modules 1-8, published by the Construction Specifications Institute
-
Plotting Guidelines and Attributes of the United States Coast Guard, as promulgated by the U.S. Department of Defense CAD/GIS Technology Center
