The Board unanimously agreed to enter into a strategic alliance agreement with the Construction Sciences Research Foundation, Inc. (CSRF). CSRF become the fifth MasterFormat intergrator as a result of the agreement. The agreement was signed by the organizations’ Presidents and Executive Directors on June 18, 2007. (Read a press release)
The Board approved a line item for the Preliminary Project Description Task Team in both the FY08 and FY09 budgets.
The Board approved a revised Institute Policy, Section I – General, Part 5, Code of Conduct, to ensure compliance with latest association and professional standards. The code is part of CSI's Administrative References, and the new version will be included as part of an update later this year.
The Board revised the CSI Investment Policy to include a new fund to accommodate Show proceeds.
The Board ratified the FY08 committee appointments. (See the committees)
The Board approved CSI Group Affiliate status for a contingent of members based in Beirut, Lebanon. The Group Affiliate Program is designed for members who want to organize a local CSI unit, but do not have enough CSI members to form a fully functioning chapter.
The Board approved the creation of the Hans Meier Award in recognition of CSI certification excellence. CSI will begin accepting nominations for the award in FY09, which begins July 1, 2008.
The Board reviewed the major strategic plan objectives and the 9 FY08 Executive Committee Priorities including appointment of a Governance Task Team to continue work on reorganizing CSI’s governance structure. (Learn more about the task team)
The Board had the pleasure of welcoming Norbert Young, FAIA President McGraw-Hill Construction (a MasterFormat integrator and CSI alliance partner) to present on construction industry trends.
