Certified Construction Product Representative (CCPR) Program Overview

As a product representative, you're a vital source of technical information for the construction team. With CCPR certification, you'll be a sought after industry expert with an in-depth understanding of the overall construction process and superior ability in the principles of effective product representation. Plus, CCPR on your business card means you speak the same language as architects, engineers, specifiers, contractors and other decision-makers – and that opens doors. 
 

CCPR candidates must demonstrate their knowledge in the following subject areas:

  • Construction product representation
    - Principles of effective product representation
    - Marketing and product information
  • Preparation of construction documents
    - Division 01 concepts
    - Specification techniques
    - Preparation of technical specifications
  • Use of construction documents
    - Document organization and use
    - Bidding process
    - Substitution process
    - Construction product warranties and guarantees
  • The construction process
    - Bidding phase activities
    - Construction phase activities

To Qualify for the CCPR Examination:

  • Candidate must have passed the CDT exam.
  • Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years experience in the representation of construction product(s) exclusive of academic preparation.
  • Candidate must provide reference contact information for a manufacturer or employer who will attest that the candidate has had at least 2 years experience representing construction product(s).

About the Exam
The computer-based CCPR examination is administered at Prometric test centers nationwide. To view the Prometric test center locations, visit www.prometric.com/CSI and select “Locate a Testing Center”. To pass, candidates must receive a grade of 75 percent or higher.

The application fee includes registration and examination. It does not include the source materials.

  • Certification Renewal Information
    In the renewal year, CSI will send certificants an Application for Certification Renewal. Certificants will be asked to attest that they have met the continuing education requirements (24 hours of education = 2.4 CEUs) and are active in their field, and to submit the renewal fee.

  • Source Materials
    Candidates must study the correct source material when preparing for an exam. The ability to understand, interpret, and apply knowledge from the source materials is the difference between passing and failing. Source materials are not included in the examination fee, but are available for purchase through CSI, AIA, and EJCDC member organizations. Source materials may also be available for loan from local libraries, industry firms, colleges, CSI chapters, or colleagues.
