Preliminary Project Descriptions (PPDs) facilitate better understanding of a project in early stages of development by the owner, cost estimators, and design team, and assist in implementing BIM by helping design teams make earlier decisions about some aspects of their projects and document those decisions as they are made. PPDFormat coordinates with UniFormat, MasterFormat and CSI's other standards and provides guidance for authoring and organizing PPD content.
